“Take A Can, Leave A Can” Pantry

Recent discussions during our meetings have brought up our need to help each other out during hard times.  Many are struggling between paychecks, so we have decided to start a food pantry in the Narthex for anyone using our building.  We will be sharing our non-perishable food donations between our own “pantry” and the Parish Cupboard.  There is a shelving unit in the coat rack area with items available if you or anyone you know has a need.  The intent is to reach out to those who might have needs, when the Parish Cupboard is closed.  Please feel free to “take or leave” a donation.  Also, don’t forget our “four legged” friends, who may be hungry.  If you have any questions, please feel free to talk with Dave Bolster, Christine Harlow-Harris or Beth Harlow-Harris.

It only takes a little bit to help someone!

GLBT March for Equality

On Saturday, 5/2, Mittineague's Advocates for Inclusiveness Group participated in the Northampton GLBT March for Equality.  There were 7 members of the congregation that marched to raise awareness for equality and justice for all within the denomination and to help raise community awareness of the need to communicate to the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender population that they are loved as we are all brothers and sisters through Christ!  This group continues to address several justice issues and is currently finalizing plans for beginning to collect items for an area battered women's shelter.  They are also hoping to do another fundraiser for Birch Park Circle by putting on a summer picnic open to the community so please check back for more information on this possible event.  (Please visit the Advocates for Inclusiveness webpage for more pictures from the 5/2 event.)

The Children of God: "Gathered to worship. Scattered to serve."

We are called to act with justice.  We are called to love tenderly.  We are called to serve one another.  To walk humbly with God.
